The Malcom Middlemist Trophy

The reciprocal 'home' fixture against our friends at Sonning Golf Club was first played in 2005. The event is played at Woodhall Spa Golf Club over two days, with a dinner held at the Petwood Hotel - famous as the home of 617 'Dambuster' Squadron during the Second World War - on the evening of the first day.

The Malcolm Middlemist trophy, presented by the Middlemist family in memory of Malcom Middlemist, a long-standing member at Sonning and former Chairman of the RAFGS, was first awarded in 2024. The trophy has a complete record of the results of the match since 2005.

Cumulative results since 2005: RAFGS 8; Halved 3: Sonning 9; Not played 2
