The match against Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club was first played in 2001. The match was initially played over two rounds of foursomes, but the format was changed to a single round of foursomes in 2016. The club very generously gave the RAFGS members who wished to play a second round courtesy of the course in the afternoon. This format has continued up to 2025.
The match results have tended to favour the home side, although in recent years the success has been more evenly shared:
Cumulative results: RAFGS - 6; Halved - 6; RCPGC - 11
